Luckily I had a supply of clean rags and "Totally Toddler" on hand when Audrey decided to pull an entire bowl of taco soup off the table. I still can't believe we managed to get it all out of the carpet. Here are a few other things Audrey has been up to lately:
- Learning new words
- Using "Uh-Oh" in the correct context
- Actions for the song "Book of Mormon Stories"
- NURSERY! (all by herself)
- Removing her clothes
- Throwing fits
- Helping unload the dishwasher
- Helping set the table
- Running
- Teething (2 molars popped through)
- Refusing to sleep
- TV watching (for about 2 minutes at a time)
- Pooping in the tub
- Picking out her own clothes to wear
- Wanting daddy
- "Helping" mommy cook
oooh. That makes me cringe! My boys dump loads of food on the floor. I can't imagine scrubbing it out of carpet!
ReplyDeleteWe have carpet under our table, too. That is part of the reason why we eat at Katelyn's little kid table in the kitchen. That area is not carpeted. Imagine the three of us, Jeff and I with our knees up to our chins, squished together at the table. It is wonderful, except when you are eight months pregnant with back pain. I'm so glad you were able to get the mess out! Hope you guys are doing well.
ReplyDeleteWhen we had carpet in the dining room we got a couple of lengths of those tacky plastic carpet runners and put them under the table. It did nothing for the aesthetics of the room, but it did keep the red kool-aid off the cream carpet. We have some friends who bought a cheap area rug with lots of pattern to put under their table. The patterns hid the spills, it was cheap so they didn't care if it got ruined, and it looked better than the plastic.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a carpeted dining area. I felt like I was always cleaning, but I never realized just how much stuff found its way to the floor 'till we moved to a place with vinyl in the dining area. And then I was able to see everything.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for removing the soup from the carpet!
p.s. I've wondered why in the world anyone would carpet a bathroom for the same...or, different...reason!
What a sweet little girl. I admire that you write down your cute kida accomplishments. As I read through this list I can hear your fun laugh as it all happens. You are such a great mom. And i second the carpet, oh I hate carpet and in the kitchen YUk who does that. Carpet is the worst invention ever.
