Happy Easter!

When Dakota woke up and remembered it was Easter, he ran upstairs, climbed on the couch, and looked out the window. When he saw all the snow, he said something like "Oh, I guess it's not Easter." He was very relieved to find that the Easter Bunny had left all his goodies on the kitchen table. He scored a squirt gun, jump rope, hot wheels car, and bubbles along with the usual candy and cracker filled eggs. Audrey got the same things except sidewalk chalk instead of a jump rope.

After the morning session of General Conference, we went to my Aunt Vicki's house. The bunny braved the snow there, and we had an indoor/outdoor Easter egg hunt. (In fact, the clever Easter Bunny even used the snow to his advantage by putting white eggs in the snow). The kids had a blast, and we enjoyed breakfast for lunch afterwards, and some great company and games.

Making Easter candy was a tradition growing up, and my mom was kind enough to give me her molds. I have absolutely no self-control when it comes to sweets, so I tried not to go overboard this year. Dakota and I made 3 flavors: orange, mint, and peanut butter. (The Peanut Butter ones were definitely the favorite, and are already gone!)

We finally got around to dying Easter eggs tonight after dinner. (Yes, Easter day). I think we need to have more kids just so we can dye more Easter eggs. One dozen just isn't enough for our creative juices! (Although I guess our kids would actually have to eat boiled eggs for us to justify making more. Bummer.)
