9 months

9 months ago today, we moved into our house.  It has its quirks, but to be honest we absolutely love it!  We love the neighborhood, we love the yard, we love the kitchen.  We love having a place we know will be home for more than a few years.  We love fixing it up how we want.  Speaking of fixing it up, here are some things we've done in the past 9 months:

Put new roof on (actually we paid someone else to pull the old shingles off, patch the holes, and add attic vents)
New windows (and sliding glass doors that actually slide!)
Fixed leaks in bathroom and kitchen sinks (and installed a new kitchen faucet)
Took out the ugly bushes in front yard
A LOT of weeding in the backyard
Tore out the hot tub (it didn't work, and although the lid was there when we looked at the house, it was gone when we closed on it)
Put a floor strip in the pantry
Made coat closet a double-decker closet
Made girls closet a double-decker closet

I've decided that the hardest part about fixing up a house (aside from paying for it) is only tackling one project at a time.  I have so many ideas, and so many things that I want to do that sometimes I have a hard time focusing on one thing at a time.  But oh how I love being able to dream...
