Twin Lakes

After the family reunion with Adam's family, we spent a day doing laundry, shopping, and packing for Twin Lakes.  (Luckily Peter's new house was finished so we could use their washer and dryer, and sleep at their house that last night). I was a little nervous when I saw rain on the forecast for the entire time we would be there.  Luckily my family gets along wonderfully, and we all managed to fit in the cabin despite the fact that the deck was too wet to sleep on. We spent most of our time playing in the water when weather permitted, and playing games in the cabin while it rained.  We went to the 4th of July parade in Bridgeport, and enjoyed the unusually cool weather. Later, we returned for pizza and fireworks.

Pretty pathetic that most of our pictures were taken from the truck.
I guess that happens when you spend more than 20 hours driving.

Droughts are bad, but having a beach at the lake is so nice! The kids spent most of their time kayaking, catching minnows, fishing without hooks, and playing at the "Ninja Cafe" that they created last year.
We had a blast with the paddle board we rented for a day.

I was glad to see my garden survived our almost 2-week absence.
Not so excited to see all the weeds, and our dead lawn.
