Washington DC

It took my sister and her family to move to the DC area for me to finally justify a visit.  Bridget and I enjoyed touring DC and visiting Lisa's family while Adam and the older kids played at Grandma's house.

My first tourist stop was the capitol building.

This Helen Keller Statue (inside the Capitol Building) reminds me of pumping water at my Grandma & Grandpa's house when I was little.

The Lincoln Memorial was a lot bigger than I imagined.

I know you're all jealous of my fabulous fashion statement...

Mt. Vernon... I wouldn't mind a view like this from my backyard!  This was one of my favorite tourist spots, but that might be because I spent most of the time outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather along with the history.  (I offered to take a picture of Lisa's family, and then realized I would have a hard time holding Bridget and taking a picture at the same time.  So they now have a family snapshot with Bridget in it).

We saw a lot of things, and missed a lot of things while visiting DC.  I look forward to returning with Adam someday.
Thank you Ryan for getting a job that motivates us to travel.  We're looking forward to visiting you at your next post in Belgium!

  2. i am glad you got to see all those things. We sure enjoyed our visit. It was fun having Adam and the kids here while you were gone and we didn't have to walk near as far.
